Disabled train causes major BART delays near SFO

Published Monday March 28

BART trains were experiencing major delays near the San Francisco International Airport on Mon morning.

A train became disabled just after five in the morning between Colma and Daly City, shutting down service for East Bay-bound trains, officials said.

The disabled railcar was later cleared, and trains in both directions were sharing a single track while inspectors examined the tracks for any problems.

Morning commuters were packing into the already over-extended transportation system that’s short on cars after weeks of commute headaches.

BART officials did estimate when Monday’s service would return to normal.
