Lately, the news has been positive. Tax revenues are soaring as the local economy continues to boom and housing prices rise; expenditures appear to be under control and the county’s overall financial condition seems to be good.

A key area of concern remains not funded retiree pension/health insurance benefits.

Between 2000 and 2016, the county’s revenues nearly doubled to more than $1.6 billion.
